The primary objectives of the ARTISAN research training programme are twofold:

  • develop ESR skill base and expertise in tackling complex technical problems of system-oriented RF technologies and their applications in academic research and industrial design;
  • investigate, develop and implement innovative technologies and circuit designs for adaptive RF front end which can address the challenges of future wireless communications.

Knowledge and experience acquired in the course of this programme will pave the way to further advancements in the development and design of high-performance telecommunications systems.

The broad research and technological goals of ARTISAN encompass four interrelated strands amalgamated by a holistic system-oriented approach to the development of enabling capabilities for novel architectures of adaptive wireless interfaces for cellular base stations. In order to achieve its objectives, ARTISAN project combines the specific research tasks with training, dissemination and outreach activities.
